World Fire Contact is an independent, text-only directory of fire departments and fire and rescue services, starting with the United States and Europe. Each profile helps residents, home buyers, travelers and researchers quickly find who protects an area, how to reach them on a non-emergency line, and how quickly help can typically arrive.
This is not an emergency service. If there is a fire, smoke, a gas leak or anyone is in danger, call your local emergency number right now: 911 in the United States and Canada, 112 anywhere in the European Union, 999 or 112 in the United Kingdom.
What you will find in every profile
- Non-emergency contacts: phone, address, website, email and office hours.
- Key facts: personnel, number of stations, apparatus (fleet), coverage area and population served.
- Estimated response times by distance from the nearest station, in miles and kilometers.
- Indicative fire control times by fire size, from a small vehicle fire to a multi-alarm blaze.
- Equipment and services: engines, ladders, tankers, EMS level, hazmat, technical and water rescue.
- Sources and a "last verified" date, so you can judge how current the information is.
How the directory is organized
Profiles are grouped by region, country, state or province, and county or district. Use the search box, the Browse by Country page, or the location tags on each profile to move between areas.
Where the information comes from
We rely on publicly available sources: official department and municipal websites, annual reports, government datasets and published standards. Response and fire control times are estimates; read our methodology to see how they are produced.
Help us keep it accurate
Fire departments change: stations open, phone numbers move, fleets are renewed. If you work for a department or spot something outdated, please submit a correction. We review every message.
